Law enforcers report on identification of "inactive grouping" of militants in Kaspiysk

In the Dagestani town of Kaspiysk, law enforcers detained six persons, who were supposedly trained for involvement in combat actions in Syria. Four persons from the grouping were killed in two special operations.

"A grouping of extremists, who had been for a long time trained via the Internet by militants from Syria for involvement in terrorist activities, were detained in Kaspiysk," the "Interfax" reports.

According to a source, the operation to detain the suspects took place after on September 24, three suspected members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), who had shelled policemen, had been killed in the Tabasaran District of Dagestan. The car of the killed men was burned down. Till present, no information on their identification has been reported. According to law enforcers, the three killed suspects were members of an "inactive grouping of militants." On October 2, Gadji Budunov, another member of the militant grouping was killed in the Tabasaran District together with two other suspected militants.

In total, together with four suspects killed in two special operations, the militant grouping involved 10 people, the "Kommersant" reported with reference to its sources.
