During the week of September 26-October 2, 2016, four persons were killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. No wounded were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes three suspected members of the armed underground in Dagestan and a civilian in the Stavropol Territory.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On October 2, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the Tabasaran District of Dagestan. In the vicinity of the village of Akka, law enforcers discovered suspected militants and offered them to surrender. In response, the suspects opened fire and were killed in the shootout. According to the preliminary information, the number of the killed men includes Magomednabi Orudjev, the leader of the "Tabasaran" militant grouping. Weapons and ammunition were discovered at the place of the shootout.

Attacks on civilians

On September 26, on the road from Budyonnovsk to Kara-Tyube, unidentified attackers killed Ravil Kaibaliev, the deputy imam of the Neftekumsk District of the Stavropol Territory. He was shot dead from a pistol, and his body was found lying on the roadside.

Detentions

On September 30, the police detained about 50 people near the Salafi mosque "Tanghim" in Makhachkala. After the Friday Juma prayer, "believers were detained not far from the mosque at the intersection of Yaragsky and Omarov Streets." At the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Soviet District, the detainees were included in the prevention registration list and were released. All the detainees, including those whose names had been earlier put on the prevention registration list, were forced to be photographed and fingerprinted.

Kidnappings

On September 19, after work, Aslan Abdurakhmanov and his friend Said Saidov, residents of the town of Kaspiysk, took a car to transport food products as an act of charity to Gulnara, a resident of the Leninsky District of Makhachkala. They were to meet her in Akhmedkhan-Sultan Street; however, the meeting finally failed. Gulnara reported that she saw 5-6 persons in masks beating a man lying on the ground. She also heard several shots. After that, Gulnara saw how the attackers forced the beaten man inside their jeep and drove him away. On September 19, Said Saidov stopped responding to calls to his mobile phone, and his parents filed a complaint to the police.
