Resident of Chechnya accused of disseminating extremist materials

The Chechen Prosecutor's Office has accused Omar Galaev, a local resident, of disseminating on the Internet video records shot after Timur Mutsuraev's songs, included in the list of extremist materials.

According to the inspection carried out by the Chechen Prosecutor's Office, in 2014, on his personal page on the social network "VKontakte", Omar Galaev published the Timur Mutsuraev's songs, including "Avar Village", "Hold on, Russia", "Allahu Akbar" and "Khava Baraeva". This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by an official from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.

According to the prosecutor, in 2010, all the above songs were recognized as extremist materials by the court of the Kemerovo Region.

The criminal case is instituted against Omar Galaev under Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (Mass dissemination of extremist materials included in the published federal list of extremist materials). According to the prosecutor, the Chechen resident faces a fine of up to 3000 roubles or arrest for 15 days.

The prosecutor reports that Omar Galaev pleads not guilty.
