Supporters of political prisoners peacefully complete their rally in Yerevan (+video)

The participants of the today's action in Yerevan, dedicated to the anniversary of the "Million Mask March" have stated that any kind of dissent is suppressed in Armenia under Russia's pressure. Policemen did not interfere; and the action ended without incidents.

The march was organized by relatives of the convicts under the case of "Million Mask March". According to organizers, it was attended by about 300 people.

The "Million Mask March", held in Yerevan on November 5, 2013, ended in clashes of marchers with policemen. Shant Arutyunyan, the organizer of the march, and 13 other activists were punished in the range of fines to imprisonment for seven years.

The today's marchers walked along central streets of Yerevan with a stretched banner reading "Freedom! Dignity!"; they also held posters with portraits of the convicted participants of the "Million Mask March" and photos of members of the "Sasna Tsrer" group, who held captured, on July 17-31, a building of the police regiment in Yerevan.

Shagen Arutyunyan, a son of Shant Arutyunyan, has noted in his comment to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that, although the march organized by his father in 2013 changed nothing in the system of power, changes in the minds of Armenians are obvious; they "are increasingly eager to protect their rights and have an independent and sovereign country."
