All complaints of "Voice of Beslan" activists against fines for disobeying police rejected
Judge Umar Alborov has completed the consideration of the complaints lodged by activists of the "Voice of Beslan" against the judgement, having rejecting two more of them. As a result, none of the fined women could challenge the imposed penalty for disobeying the policemen, who dispersed the action.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1 policemen used force to detain six activists of the "Voice of Beslan", five of whom came to the action wearing T-shirts with the inscription accusing President Putin. The court sentenced them to fines and public works.
The activists' complaints against the punishment imposed for violating the order of organizing the action were considered by Judge Nazirat Kokaeva. During the trial, the defendants repeatedly challenged the judge and accused her of prejudice. Kokaeva had mostly judged leniency, and even acquitted one of the activists. However, instead of public works the remaining activists were fined, which, in the opinion of the defence, only worsened their situation.
Ella Kesaeva, the head of the "Voice of Beslan", who defended Emilia Bzarova, noted that the latter is a Category III invalid.
Zhanna Tsirikhova, another activist, refused to plead guilty.
Ella Kesaeva has stated that all the activists will file a cassation complaint to the Presidium of the Supreme Court of North Ossetia and to seek abolition of Judge Alborov's decision.
