In Chechnya, Prosecutor's Office and Ombudsman investigate disappearance of Ramazan Djalaldinov
In Chechnya, the Prosecutor's Office has sent to the Investigating Department the instruction to investigate the reports about disappearance of Ramazan Djalaldinov, who had been earlier persecuted for his complaint about corruption in the Sharoi District of Chechnya. The disappearance of Ramazan Djalaldinov may be a provocation against the authorities, states the Ombudsman of the Chechen Republic.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to relatives and villagers of Ramazan Djalaldinov, shortly before his disappearance, he was questioned by law enforcers. Meanwhile, the conflicting reports came about his disappearance: according to different sources, the man disappeared on November 4 or 6.
On November 6, Ramazan Djalaldinov left home and never came back, confirms the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.
Chechen Ombudsman Nurdi Nukhazhiev has expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the incident was at first learned by the media and only then by the authorities.
Igor Kalyapin, the leader of the "Committee for the Prevention of Torture", was one of the first of Facebook users who reposted the message on disappearance of Ramazan Djalaldinov on November 6. The very message was posted by user Rasul Abu Assad on November 5.
Abdul-Kadyrov has added that Ramazan Djalaldinov had no problems with the local authorities: he "was engaged in building a house and was not going to disappear."
Nazirat Nabieva, the wife of Ramazan Djalaldinov, and his son Magomed-Khabib said that it is not the first time when the man disappears without notice. According to Nazirat Nabieva, his husband told her that he planned to go to Moscow for medical treatment in November, but did not mention his diagnosis, the "Interfax" reports.
