In Rostov-on-Don, picketers speak against Russia's military action in Syria

Today, about 30 activists of the "Yabloko" and "PARNAS" Parties and the movement "Solidarity" have held a rally in Rostov-on-Don. They have demanded from the Russian authorities to stop the military action in Syria.

The picket was held in the First Pioneer Meeting Park. In their hands, the picketers were holding posters with the slogans reading: "No war in Syria!" and "To conduct a bloody war means to betray own country!", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to organizers of the picket, it was attended by about 30 people, as it was stated in the notification sanctioned by the authorities. "Initially, the picket was announced to be held in Cathedral Square (located in the city centre, note of the 'Caucasian Knot'). However, according to the response got from the Leninsky District administration, 'it is prohibited to hold pickets and rallies' at the place we asked for, so, we were offered to hold a picket in the park," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Andrei Sklyarov, an organizer of the picket, a member of the "Yabloko" Party.

"The objective of the picket is to show that there are people in Russia, who are not satisfied with the aggression against peaceful Syrian citizens, in particular, residents of Aleppo," noted Andrei Sklyarov.
