"EcoWatch" activists, "Dozhd" reporter detained in Krasnodar Territory

Dmitry Shevchenko and Victor Chirikov, activists of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch), and Sergey Petrov, a correspondent of the "Dozhd" (Rain) TV Channel, were detained today in the vicinity of the village of Kabardinka by employees of the private security company; this was reported by Chirikov in his page on the "Facebook" social network.

"We were roped by gunners in the woods," Victor Chirikov reports. "They took away our equipment and deleted our photo and video materials."

As of 8:35 p.m. Moscow time, the whereabouts of the detainees were unknown; the mobile phones of Chirikov and Shevchenko were turned off, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to the "EcoWatch", earlier the activists "held a public inspection in the area of the city of Gelendjik in the territory of the forest fund". According to the activists, these land plots "were captured by Evgeny Prigozhin, a member of the Putin's closest retinue." This message was posted on November 29 on the "EcoWatch" website.
