Disappeared student Rakhmet Kasaev and his uncle detained by law enforcers

Today, family members of Rakhmet Kasaev, a fifth-year student of the Stavropol Medical Academy, have claimed his kidnapping, however later the student has been found among the detainees kept at a local police station.

The family members of Rakhmet Kasaev have learned about his whereabouts from the on duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Stavropol. They came there to file a complaint about the kidnapping of the young man. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by one of the student's family members. He has also noted that they were not informed of the reasons for the detention of the young man.

"They start to search an apartment where Rakhmet lives and they do not allow any of the tenants to enter the apartment. Our advocate is also not allowed to come in," said the Rakhmet Kasaev's relative.

According to him, family members fear that policemen may plant prohibited items to the Rakhmet Kasaev's apartment. Despite the fact that staff members of the GOVD (City Interior Division) refused to accept a complaint about kidnapping, the relatives of the young man still treat the law enforcers' action as illegal.

"If Rakhmet is detained, they should not have kidnapped him deceitfully, without notifying his family members of his whereabouts for such a long time. They should have informed us and give us a chance to provide him with defence. Nothing of the above was done. So, it is actually a kidnapping, and during all the time, the family members are not informed, since law enforcers beat him for confession. All people are aware of these methods of the law enforcement bodies," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a detainee's friend who preferred to remain anonymous.

Besides, relatives of Rakhmet Kasaev have reported that Nariman Otigenov, an uncle of the detained student, who came to the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Promyshlenny District of Stavropol to file a complaint about the kidnapping of his nephew, was detained for questioning.
