HRC expert Ikramudin Aliev detained in Dagestan

Today, Makhachkala policemen, without explaining the reasons, put Ikramudin Aliev, a Dagestani journalist and an expert of the Human Rights Council (HRC) under the President of Russia, into their car and drove away.

The detention took place around 1:00 p.m. in the dwelling settlement of Reduktorny of Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan.

During the detention, power agents knocked Aliev down to the ground and called a patrol-and-post service (PPS) unit. After that, Aliev was taken to the police. According to the “Echo Moskvy” Radio, after a short questioning, policemen let him go.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already reported about detentions of Ikramudin Aliev in Dagestan. In particular, power agents detained him in June 2011 at a rally against extrajudicial executions in Dagestan.
