“Beslan Mothers” reproach critics for pettiness and ignorance

The main purpose of addressing the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) was to uphold the right to a fair investigation, and not to receive compensations, as some users of social networks assert, said the “Beslan Mothers” Committee. Based on the decision of the ECtHR, Russian authorities should eliminate violations in the inquiry into the terror act, the "Legal Initiative" has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Khadjimurat Gatsalov, the Mufti of North Ossetia, stood in defence of the “Beslan Mothers”.

"Because of their ignorance, people do not understand the essence of the defence of our rights at the ECtHR," said Aneta Gadieva, the co-chair of the “Beslan Mothers” Committee, who was held hostage at School No. 1, and lost her daughter there.

In her turn Rita Sidakova, a member of the Committee, said that "in their attitude to the victims, people split into two camps back in 2004."

"The payments receive by the victims are still haunted by many; however, the payments are not the main point; my main goal is that Russian holds an objective investigation into the terror act," Ms Sidakova, who lost her daughter there, said, adding that “only the terrorist Kulaev was punished within the terror act case, but the people, who admitted the tragedy, remain unpunished."

Ella Kesaeva, the head of another organization – the "Voice of Beslan", who had her daughter taken hostage and wounded during the terror act, said the members of her organization "are constantly under pressure."
