In Sochi, Court refuses to clarify its decision in Saveliev family's case

On May 23, Sergey Mashevets, Judge of the Adler District Court, who on April 17, 2015 pronounced the decision to evict the Saveliev family from a cottage for Olympic settlers in the village of Veseloye Psou, refused to explain at their request his decision on mentioning the need to solve the housing problem of the evicted family, reports Lyudmila Savelieva.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2011, the Saveliev family, consisting of five people, including two children, was evicted from a barrack, which was later demolished during the construction of the Olympic road. The Saveliev family occupied one of the cottages in the village for Olympic settlers, but they were requested to vacate the housing. On May 22, the court marshals came to the cottage, occupied by the Saveliev family, cut the locks on the gate and, without the bodies of guardianship, forced adults and children outside the gates of the house into the street.

Lyudmila Savelieva has explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she asked the court to explain why court marshals evict them into the street, while the court's decision indicates that the Mayor's Office is to solve the housing problem of the Saveliev family at the expense of budgetary or extra-budgetary funds prior to their eviction from the cottage.

According to the woman, the court hearing was attended by a prosecutor and an official of the Adler administration, who demanded to refuse the clarification without explaining the reasons. "The judge, the prosecutor, and the official from the Mayor's Office did not answer my questions," said Lyudmila Savelieva.

After the eviction from the cottage, the Saveliev family members were sheltered by neighbours. "On May 22, after we with our children were evicted into the street under the rain, we managed to grab and take out only some of our belongings. We would like to say thanks to our friends who came to support us. They offered to stay at their place for a week," Alexei Saveliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
