Defence considers Shagid Gubashev's guilt to be unproven

During the debate, an advocate of Shagid Gubashev has claimed that the arguments of public prosecutors do not confirm the version about the involvement of his client in the Boris Nemtsov's murder. The advocate has requested the court to acquit Shagid Gubashev.

Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. The defendants in the case are the natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia Zaur Dadaev, the brothers Anzor and Shagid (also named by mass media as Shadid) Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. Investigators believe that Ruslan Mukhudinov was the customer of the murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 31, the Moscow District Military Court announced the investigation in the case to be completed. On June 1, a public prosecutor found the defendants' guilt to be proven and asked the jury to pronounce a verdict of guilty.

According to advocate Magomed Musaev, the available details of the mobile phone connections do not confirm that Shagid Gubashev and Boris Nemtsov were at the same time in the village of Benelux, where the Boris Nemtsov's house was located.

According to the public prosecutors, in October and November 2014, Shagid Gubashev stayed in the Odintsovo District, where he watched the Boris Nemtsov's car.

Magomed Musaev has also noted that Shagid Gubashev had no mobile phone connections with Ruslan Geremeev and Ruslan Mukhudinov and that his client got acquainted with Eskerkhanov only in the Basmanny Court of Moscow.

The advocate has also found disputable the public prosecutors' version that Ruslan Mukhudinov had given shelter to Shagid Gubashev, Anzor Gubashev, and Bakhaev in the village of Kozino. "Let me remind you that Shagid lived in Kozino for more than 10 years and not since October 2014 (according to the public prosecutors, the preparation of the murder was started in October 2014, note of the 'Caucasian Knot')," noted Magomed Musaev.

"I believe that my client is not guilty. I request the court to acquit him," said the advocate.
