Fans of "Akhmat" FC report their voluntary arrival in Rostov-on-Don

After the victory of the "Akhmat" Football Club (FC) over the "Rostov" FC, fans of the Grozny football team reported that they came to the match voluntarily. They did not chant slogans during the game. The first visiting match of the "Akhmat" FC was attended by much less people than last year, and the support level of the football team fell after the change in the FC's name, the fans claimed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 23, the Grozny "Akhmat" FC defeated the "Rostov" FC with the score of 1: 0.

Chechen football fan Maga has said that he with his friends came to the match at their own expense. He has noted that today, in total, just 30 fans for the "Akhmat" FC have come to the match, while a year ago, according to him, several hundred people arrived.

The atmosphere in the stadium was calm; however, the approaches to the stadium were blocked by the "KamAZ" police trucks. The fans of the "Rostov" FC did not chant any insulting remarks about the "Akhmat" FC.

Let us remind you that on June 6, Akhmed Aidamirov, the general director for the "Terek" FC, reported that the FC's board of directors agreed with the proposal to rename the "Terek" FC in the "Akhmat" FC in honour of Akhmat Kadyrov, the former leader of the republic and the father of Ramzan Kadyrov. Akhmed Aidamirov explained that the renaming was connected with numerous requests from football fans. In social networks, the fans opposed the decision on the renaming, and residents of the republic called it opportunistic.
