HRC "Memorial": father of shepherds killed in Dagestan unsuccessfully seeking judgement enforcement
Despite the court judgement that came into force on May 2, investigators have not yet provided data on the initiation of a criminal case or denial thereof on the application of the father of the Gasanguseinov brothers killed in Dagestan, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) “Memorial” reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that power agents kept asserting that the brothers had shot at them and had been involved in the armed underground. However, their fellow villagers have stated that they had been just shepherds. Their parents are seeking to rehabilitee their sons’ reputation.
On May 2, the Supreme Court of Dagestan ordered investigators to conduct a check on Murtazali Gasanguseinov's application about the murder of his sons.
According to rights defenders, on July 7, the father complained that, despite the court judgement, he had not yet been notified about the outcomes of the check.
Also, according to rights defenders, the firearms, ammunition, bullets and shells confiscated from the scene "have not been studied for the presence of Gasanguseinovs’ fingerprints."
Besides, as stated by the advocate Murad Magomedov, investigators fail to answer the defence’s demands to add the brothers’ characteristics to the case files, and to question the witnesses.
