RT: Dagestani relatives identify four children from Baghdad shelter

The supposed relatives of children from Dagestan, who had been taken to Iraq, got in touch after watching a video from a shelter in Baghdad. The head of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, has set up a commission to search for and return children, the “Russia Today” (RT) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian authorities are trying to return 48 children, who had been taken to Syria and Iraq by their parents who joined terrorists. They cannot be sent to Russia because of lack of documents confirming their Russian citizenship.

The shelter in Baghdad keeps five children who speak Russian, the RT reports.

"We managed, with the help of the Instagram, to get in touch with the aunt of a boy; she is living in Makhachkala she said that parents took the child out of Russia a year and a half ago, when the boy was two years old; his father was killed long ago; and there is no contacts with his mother for ten months,” says the article.

The aunt of another child "reported that the boy’s father was killed, and his mother last contacted a year ago; she could not manage to return to Russia."

Also, the RT received a letter from Makhachkala from a relative of two sisters, aged 5 and 3, who were taken to Turkey two years ago.

Earlier, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, supported the RT’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan, who called for help in finding relatives of the children taken to Mosul.
