Advocate reports on case instituted against lezginka dancer in Gelendzhik

A criminal case has been instituted for use of violence against a policeman against Salim Akhobekov, who was detained for dancing lezginka in Gelendzhik and who served five days of administrative arrest. This was reported by an advocate of the young man.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 12, in Gelendzhik, several young people who were dancing lezginka were detained by the police. The court found two detainees guilty of petty hooliganism and failure to obey to the police and arrested them for five days.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the advocate of Salim Akhobekov that the criminal case against his client had been initiated under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a public official).

According to the defender, the criminal case against Salim Akhobekov was instituted by the Investigating Division for Gelendzhik of the Investigating Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) on August 17. At the preliminary investigation stage, the first interrogation of Salim Akhobekov was carried out in the presence of an appointed advocate. The young man does not admit his guilt in the criminal case and in the case of an administrative offense for which he had served five days of arrest, the advocate noted.
