Houses of militants’ families blown up in Dagestan

Power agents have blown up the houses of alleged militants in the village of Bolshaya Zadoyevka in the Kizlyar District, claiming that explosive devices were stored there. However, villagers doubt the fact.

On October 1, after the murders of two district policemen in the Babayurt and Kizilyurt Districts of Dagestan, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in both districts. In the CTO conducted in the Babayurt District, two men were killed and later identified as Djumageldi Adjiniyazov and Kamal Ibrahimov, both aged 29. Power agents were searching for the third alleged militant, the 28-year-old Shamil Yusupov.

The "Kavkaz.Realii" reports citing its law enforcement source that houses inhabited by suspects’ relatives were ruined.

"This is a power agents’ demonstrative action," the edition quotes a local as saying.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the destruction of houses of militants’ relatives was common in Chechnya as a method of fighting the armed underground.
