Kadyrov announces return of 44 women and children from Syria

Ramzan Kadyrov has stated today that in the near future, a group of women and children from Chechnya, Dagestan and other Russian regions, as well as from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, will be brought from Syria to Grozny.

"We've managed to identify 44 women and children who are kept in Syrian camps; of them, nine children and two women are citizens of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan; the rest are Russians from Bashkortostan, Orel, Dagestan and other regions, including 10 women and children from Chechnya," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his Instagram today.

He has clarified that now "all the organizational issues are finalized." "In the very near future, most likely, early next week, this group of 44 persons will be brought to Grozny," the Chechen leader has reported.

It should be noted here that law enforcers suggested that women returning from Syria should file confessions in order to legally avoid criminal responsibility for their involvement in the militants. However, two women from Dagestan, who returned to Russia on October 21, were detained; and on October 24, a Makhachkala court ruled to place them in custody, despite the fact that they both have breast-fed babies.
