Relatives of Chechen resident reported his detention for drinking alcohol

Chechen policemen have detained a resident of the village of Samashki, Achkhoi-Martan District, for drinking alcohol. He and several other persons are kept in the gym of the village of Khimoi, the relatives of the detainee report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to residents of the Achkhoi-Martan District that on November 13, an unofficial curfew was introduced in the district. Law enforcers explained the measure by strengthening their fight against alcoholism and drug addiction.

According to the relatives of the Samashki villager, policemen stated that the detainee was drunk, but he had never used alcohol, the "Kavkaz.Realii" medium reports.

It is assumed that the detainees will appear on the republic's TV and "apologize within the campaign of combating alcoholism and drug addiction in Chechnya," the medium writes.
