Yunus-Bek Evkurov promises to help Ingush natives after their return from Syria
Residents of Ingushetia, who return from the Middle East, will be able to start a peaceful life at home. This has been announced by Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov. He has treated the decision to send Sunni policemen from the Caucasus to Syria as "hitting the spot."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about involvement of Ingushetia residents in the conflict in Syria on the side of militants. As of January 2017, according to the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), since the beginning of the war, about 200 local residents joined the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia. A quarter of them were killed, and 10 others returned to their homeland.
"If it is proved that a person is involved in crimes here or outside the country then he or she will be sentenced under the laws of the Russian Federation. If no crimes are proven, a person has nothing to be afraid of," Yunus-Bek Evkurov said in his interview to the RIA "Novosti".
The opportunity to start a peaceful life in the homeland also concerns the women who followed their husbands to the war zone.
According to Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the authorities should pay attention to wives of Russian citizens who return to their homeland and who earlier followed their husbands who left for the Middle East to fight there, since most of the women realized where their husbands went and what for.
The Ingush leader has noted that the number of the wives also included those women who were deceived and taken out of the country, and there are cases in the republic when the Ingush women returned after they had learned the true goals of their husbands.
When sending Sunni policemen from the republics of Northern Caucasus to Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin has taken into account the confrontation between the Islam concepts and hit the spot, Yunus-Bek Evkurov added. The Ingush leader has also explained that followers of different concepts of Islam are constantly in conflict, although this is the same religion.
