One of marchers in memory of Markelov and Baburova detained

According to Moscow law enforcers, the today's march in memory of the lawyer Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova, a journalist of the "Novaya Gazeta", was over 500 people strong.

Stanislav Markelov was shot dead on January 19, 2009, in Moscow after a press conference dedicated to the release from prison of Colonel Yuri Budanov, who had served his term on charges of killing the Chechen girl Elza Kungaeva. Anastasia Baburova, who accompanied the lawyer, was also killed.

The traditional commemoration march, which began in Moscow from Novopushkinsky Mini-Park, was over in Prechistenka, where the lawyer and a journalist were killed.

When the march was moving along Nikitsky Boulevard, a man was detained; policemen refused to explain the reason.

Let us note here that a year ago seven marchers in memory of Markelov and Baburova were detained.
