Ali Umarov, a resident of Makhachkala, whose kidnapping was claimed by his relatives, is at the police station, Magomedov, his advocate, has stated, adding that the whereabouts of Rasul Tatamgadjiev, an Umarov's friend, has not yet been established.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ali Umarov, a resident of Makhachkala, born in 1987, disappeared on February 1. On the following day, his friend Rasul Tatamgadjiev disappeared too. Their relatives stated the men were kidnapped by law enforcers.

The advocate said that Umarov was suspected of illegal storage of firearms and ammunition.

"According to law enforcers, Umarov was detained in the settlement of Kyakhulai of Makhachkala on February 5. They allegedly saw a suspicious man, checked him and found ammunition and a grenade," Magomedov said.

According to the advocate, after detention, Umarov confessed to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. However, the advocate thinks that "Umarov made confessions under pressure."
