Latvia bans Ramzan Kadyrov's entry

The ban on entry to Latvia has also been introduced for a number of law enforcement officials and subordinates of the Chechen leader.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2013, it was announced that Ramzan Kadyrov was included in the secret part of the US "Magnitsky list of sanctions." In December 2017, the US Department of Treasury included Ramzan Kadyrov in the sanctions list and called him responsible for extrajudicial executions, torture and other human rights violations in Chechnya.

According to the "Meduza", in particular, the ban on entry to Latvia was introduced for Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, Apti Alaudinov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ayub Kataev, the chief of the Argun police, Umar Sagaipov, the former assistant to the Chechen leader, and Kazbek Dukuzov, a native of Chechnya, suspected of murdering journalist Paul Klebnikov.

In 2014, the introduction of sanctions against Ramzan Kadyrov was announced by the European Union, Switzerland, and Canada. In response, the Chechen leader created his sanctions list and banned the entry to Chechnya for five citizens of the United States and the European Union.
