Tsumadin District put under CTO regime for the second time in 13 months
On March 4, the counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Tsumadin District of Dagestan for the first time since February 4, 2017, when the previous CTO regime was lifted there.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that now law enforcers are searching for militants and their helpers, without specifying any details of the operation.
Earlier, the CTO regime was in force in the Tsumadin District from January 31 to February 4, 2017; then, law enforcers reported no results of the CTO.
The today's CTO is the second one in Dagestan since the start of the year, after the CTO regime was introduced in the Untsukul District on February 15. According to the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC), in the course of that CTO, law enforcers killed a militant, who was later identified as the head of the Kharachi grouping. Also, a law enforcer perished in the shootout, and several others were wounded.
