Sources report detention of a namesake of former Dagestani leader

Ramazan Abdulatipov, a senior field investigator from the Department for Economic Security and Counteracting Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan, was detained while taking a bribe, sources report. The information has not been confirmed officially.

Investigators verify the detainee's involvement in other economic crimes, the RIA "Derbent" reports with reference to a source.

According to the source, the detainee appeared to be almost a full namesake of former Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov.
