Azerbaijan starts military exercises involving tanks and aviation units

Today, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported that up to 25,000 people, armoured vehicles, aviation and rocket-artillery units were involved in the military exercises. Meanwhile, the place of the military exercises has not been specified.

The military exercises will last until March 17. Earlier, the Azerbaijani MoD has announced that soldiers and officers will work out actions to repel an attack of a manoeuvre enemy and strike counterblows with further a large-scale counteroffensive operation.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, today, the military exercises involving various types of troops have been launched in accordance with the plan approved by President Ilham Aliev.

"The military exercise involve up to 25,000 soldiers and officers, up to 250 tanks and other armoured vehicles, up to 1000 rocket-artillery units of various calibres, multiple rocket launcher systems and mortar launchers, up to 50 units of army and front-line aviation of various purposes," reports the today's message posted on the website of the Azerbaijani MoD.
