The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 2, the Armenian Parliament elected Armen Sargsyan to be the President. He was nominated by the ruling coalition and earlier worked as the Armenian Ambassador to Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Today, the term of the Serzh Sargsyan's presidency expires. According to the constitutional reform, after the expiration of the Serzh Sargsyan's presidential term, the prime minister and not the president will be the first person of the state.

After the today's inauguration of Armen Sargsyan, the Serzh Sargsyan's power will be stopped and the country will completely pass to the parliamentary form of government.
