CEC reports almost million turnout at Azerbaijani election
By 10 a.m., at the presidential election in Azerbaijan, the voter turnout was 18.71%, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has stated. However, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who visited three polling stations in Baku has fixed a small number of voters.
The APA News Agency has reported, with reference to Farid Orudjev, Director of the Election Information Centre of the CEC's Secretariat, that by 10 p.m., a total of 994,196 voters had cast their ballots.
Polling Station No. 4 of the 15th Section of the Yasamal First Constituency, located in the Baku Medical College No. 2, opened at 8:10 a.m.
By 9 o'clock, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent counted about 90 voters; however, the chair of the commission gave an estimate of 160-170 voters.
At about 9:15 a.m. local time, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent also visited a polling station of the 16th constituency in Gasan bey Zardabi Avenue. During five minutes, only two voters voted there.
A similar situation was observed at Polling Station No. 3 of the 16th Section of the Yasamal Second Constituency in Zakhid Khalilov Street. Only three observers were present there at 10 p.m.
During 10 minutes, only three persons voted there.
