Three Azerbaijani women sentenced to death penalty in Iraq

The Central Criminal Court of Iraq recognized three Azerbaijani women as members of the "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia) and sentenced them to death penalty.

Besides, a woman from Kyrgyzstan was also sentenced to death penalty, and two women from Russia and a woman from France were sentenced to life imprisonment, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

On December 14, 2017, Siyavush Geidarov, the deputy head of the State Committee for work with religious organizations of Azerbaijan, announced that 20 Azerbaijani children still stayed in Iraq, whose parents were killed in combat actions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in January, the authorities of Azerbaijan disclosed the number of citizens of the country killed during the combat actions in Syria and Iraq. Besides, more than 300 Azerbaijani children and women "subjected to the influence of radical groups" still stayed in those countries.
