Nikol Pashinyan detained in Yerevan
After his meeting with Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian Prime Minister, which ended in mutual accusations, Nikol Pashinyan, the opposition leader, and other activists were detained in Yerevan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the five-minute meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan accused the opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan of blackmail and laid him responsible for the consequences of the ultimatum on resignation. Pashinyan, insisting on the resignation of Sargsyan, called on supporters to intensify protests and, immediately after the meeting with Sargsyan, led a march of protesters.
The police used special means against the participants of the march organized by Nikol Pashinyan. There was a skirmish of protesters with policemen; Pashinyan was detained along with other activists, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported at 10:47 a.m. Moscow time.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has received confirmation of Pashinyan's detention from Sasun Mikaelyan, an MP from the "Elk" parliamentary bloc.
