In Armenia, opposition announces boycott to Parliament

Today, the "Elk", "Tsarukyan" and ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" factions of the National Assembly of Armenia have boycotted the parliamentary session. It is postponed because of lack of quorum.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Armenia, protests were resumed with new force after the voting for the Prime Minister's candidacy. Activists demanded from the Mayors of the Armenian cities of Gyumri and Maralik to join the protests. The Mayor of Gyumri refused to do that.

Today, at the session of the Armenian Parliament, there were only 26 MPs in the hall instead of 58. Vage Enfiadjyan, the only member of the "Tsarukyan" bloc, who attended the session from the opposition, has announced that "because of the unprecedented situation, the faction declares a boycott and refuses to work in the near future."

For a parliamentary session, a quorum of 53 MPs is required.
