English football fans celebrate victory in Volgograd streets
After the victory of the England football team over the national team of Tunisia at the "Volgograd-Arena" Stadium, football fans filled Lenin Avenue. A large group of English fans went to Mamayev Kurgan. In the streets of the city, the football fans celebrated the victory of the national team with dances.
Let us remind you that on June 18, the "Volgograd-Arena" Stadium hosted a match between the national teams of England and Tunisia. The England football team won with the score of 2: 1.
At least 43,000 people attended the match at the "Volgograd-Arena" Stadium. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent asked the football fans about organization of the match and about Volgograd.
Lam and Kamel came from Australia to support the England national team. They believe prices for rooms in hotels and for food in stores and cafes are low in Volgograd. According to the guests from Australia, they had no conflicts with local residents or Tunisians.
"Everything is cheap. Tunisians are good guys. We talked to them. Volgograd is a wonderful city, and we had no problems so far," said Lam.
James and Max Hakin are football fans from the UK. They told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they arrived in Volgograd on June 17. However, they failed to get accommodation at the hotel they booked "because of problems with toilet," so they had to move to another more expensive hotel. Nevertheless, according to James, that was the only problem they faced in Volgograd.
"The media reported horrors about the FIFA World Cup in Russia. But so far, we saw nothing of the kind the journalists were frightening us with. Everything is very good," Max said.
