Relatives of detained Chechen resident not aware of his fate for eight days

Since July 10, relatives of a 24-year-old resident of the Novye Atagi village are not aware of his whereabouts. Magomed-Emin Arsamirzaev was detained without explanations, and no official charges were filed against him, a relative of the disappeared man reported.

The relatives of the man from the Shali District of Chechnya reported about his detention to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent only on July 18, a week after his disappearance.

"They took him away without explaining anything. Earlier, he had no problems with the law or with the authorities. The only thing we known so far is that he communicated with someone via the Internet and law enforcers found him through that person," said one of the young man's relatives.

The relatives and friends of Magomed-Emin Arsamirzaev are not aware of the accusation brought against the detainee by the law enforcers. No official charges were filed against the young man, his relative reported.
