Two "Sasna Tsrer" members released from custody
The court released on bail Sergey Kyuregyan and Tigran Manukyan after MPs had vouched for them.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Sergey Kyuregyan and Tigran Manukyan were charged in the case on capturing of a police regiment building and holding of hostages together with other members of the unit "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun).
On July 17-31, 2016, the armed unit "Sasna Tsrer", consisting of supporters of the opposition "Constituent Parliament", was keeping the building of the patrol-and-post service in the Armenian capital. The rebels also seized hostages and released them on the day before surrendering.
Today, the first instance court has released Sergey Kyuregyan and Tigran Manukyan on bail amounting to 1.5 million drams (3117.06 US dollars) for each. MPs of the Armenian National Assembly from the fraction "Tsarukyan" bloc also vouched for Sergey Kyuregyan and Tigran Manukyan, advocate Musheg Shushanyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Earlier, on July 27, from the same group, Araik Akopyan, a member of the unit "Sasna Tsrer", was released. Out of 32 members of the unit "Sasna Tsrer", six persons still remain in custody.
Let us remind you that on May 8, protest leader Nikol Pashinyan became the Prime Minister and the actual leader of Armenia. With the change of power in the country, the need for an armed uprising has disappeared, and the unit "Sasna Tsrer" is willing to cooperate with the new government, activists of the unit announced on June 5.
