Russian artillery and aviation hold exercises in Armenia
Exercises of more than 500 militaries from the Russian base in Armenia were held at the "Alagyaz" training ground, the Southern Military District (SMD) has reported.
Earlier, on July 23-28, Armenia hosted large-scale tactical exercises involving more than 3000 Russian military servicemen.
The 102nd Russian Military Base in Armenia has three training centres (testing grounds). The "Alagyaz" is used for artillery and tank training.
In total, more than 500 militaries are taking part in tactical exercises held in Southern Caucasus.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 3 more than 1000 Abkhaz and Russian militaries held exercises in Abkhazia against the background of the NATO exercises that are taking place in Georgia on September 1-11.
