Head of Swedish "Vayfond" goes on hunger strike against Chechen's extradition from Europe to Russia

On September 6, Mansur Sadulaev, the head of the Swedish charitable association "Vayfond", went on a hunger strike in protest against the decision of the authorities of Bosnia to extradite Akhmed Altamirov, an ethnic Chechen and a native of Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 6, Sadulaev held a picket at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Stockholm, demanding to stop the extradition of Altamirov, who was accused of links with militants, to Russia. Similar protests were held in Paris and Berlin.

Altamirov occurred to be among the natives of Northern Caucasus, whom Russia had unreasonably announced to be participants in the war in Syria on the side of militants, the "Vayfond" is asserting.

Sadulaev has voiced out his demands in a video message posted on the YouTube channel of the "Vayfond" association.

"We are sure of Altamirov's innocence... And we can prove that if he is handed over to the Russian authorities, he'll face deadly danger ... We demand to be provided with a chance to save the life of an innocent person," Mr Sadulaev has stated.
