Kadyrov demands public apology from Chechen for his boorish behaviour in metro
A video, in which a man throws a metal can at metro passengers shouting "Akhmat is power!" has angered the head of Chechnya. Ramzan Kadyrov has harshly characterized the hero of the video, stating that he does not personify the Chechen people. The head of Chechnya also demanded that the man come to him by "the first plane."
The scandalous video appeared in the network on October 10. It shows two young people in a metro train, and the passenger sitting opposite them, remaining off-screen, throws a can from some drink at them, shouting: "Akhmat is power! Say, brother?" A young man, whom the can hit, answers: "Akhmat is power, I know it; but can you behave normally?" To which he receives the answer: "Shut your mouth!"
"It's hard to anger me and get me mad. But today there's no end to my indignation," the Chechen leader has commented on the video.
Ramzan Kadyrov has ordered the man who had thrown the can to immediately come to Grozny and appear before him with his relatives. He also apologized to the young people filmed in the video and said that the culprit "does not embody the Chechen people, their traditions and customs."
"I suggest you immediately to respond this very minute and arrive, from wherever you are, by the very first flight to Grozny and come to me with your relatives! Otherwise, you will be found in a matter of hours! You shouldn't be let out of your home, and allowed to appear among the public. Your place is at a farm or logging," Kadyrov wrote in his page on the Telegram.
Let us remind you that the practice of forced apologies has appeared in Chechnya earlier; it is applied both to critics of Kadyrov's regime and those whose behaviour in one way or another irritated the authorities.
