Karabulak rally is against border agreement with Chechnya
About two hundred participants of a rally held in the city of Karabulak, Ingushetia, have unanimously demanded the cancellation of the agreement on changing the Ingush-Chechen border and elected delegates to the World Congress of the Ingush People.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from October 4, Magas hosted a round-the-clock mass rally against the change in the border with Chechnya. Protestors demanded the referendum on the issue of the border and the resignation of the republic's leader. On October 17, the organizing committee of the rally decided to interrupt the action to prepare the World Congress of the Ingush People on October 30, but called on the protesters to come to a prayer at the mosque in Magas on October 19.
The rally in Karabulak took place on October 26 after the Friday namaz (prayer) and gathered about 200 people, Magomed Mutsolgov, a human rights defender, wrote in his blog on the "Caucasian Knot". "The rally has expressed unanimous disagreement with the border agreements signed on September 26 and demanded a cancellation thereof. Then, residents elected four delegates to the upcoming Congress," Mr Mutsolgov wrote in his entry, entitled "Karabulak elects delegates to Congress".
Let us remind you that at the gathering on October 23 the opponents of the border agreement were supported by the participants of the rallies held in Yandare and Kantyshevo. On October 24, a rally took place in Magas, where Akhmed Barakhoev, the participant of the today's meeting with Kadyrov, could not speak because of law enforcers' opposition.
