After Daudov's visit to Dagestan, authorities decide to clarify Chechnya's borders
The Speakers of the Parliaments of Chechnya and Dagestan have decided to clarify the historical boundaries of the two republics in order to enter this information into the state real estate cadastre, the authorities of the two regions have announced.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 22, Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, came to Makhachkala to discuss the mutual border issue. This meeting was the first within the framework of the work of the commission set up to fix the border.
"I have no doubt that a joint solution of the border issue will contribute to the strengthening of fraternal relations of the peoples of Chechnya and Dagestan," Speaker Daudov wrote in his page on the "VKontakte" social network.
The participants of the meeting "stated the absence of disagreements and claims in defining the borders," the press service of the Dagestani government has stated.
Some "Instagram" users have expressed discontent about the plans to revise the border.
"The borders were defined hundreds years ago, by our ancestors, by their blood. Why discuss it today and for what purpose?" the user magomedshafi_ writes.
"In Dagestan, men have not yet died out. These people have defended their lands for centuries," wrote the user apishka23.
Let us remind you that the Chechen-Ingush border agreement was also preceded by the commission work. The signing of the document led to mass protests in Magas.
