Chechen public employees forced to come to subbotniks to restore Kurchali village
Ramzan Kadyrov ordered to hold subbotniks (voluntary cleaning activities on Saturdays) to prepare within two weeks empty houses in the village of Kurchali for accommodation of people. Public employees say they are involved in cleaning the territory and premises under the threat of dismissals.
The large-scale restoration of the high-mountainous Vedeno District was started in 2008. Then the leader of Chechnya promised that "20 residential buildings would be built in each settlement that suffered during the hostilities and they would be granted to families not able to restore their housing and families that lost their breadwinners."
The administration of the Vedeno District organized subbotniks in the village of Kurchali, and "administration employees and residents of nearby villages" were involved, reported authors of the TV story shown on January 27 in the news of the "Grozny" Chechen State TV and Radio Company (ChGTRK).
The subbotnik is held on the instructions of the Chechen leader, emphasizes the TV show, also published on the YouTube channel of the "Grozny" ChGTRK.
Participation in subbotniks is mandatory for public employees, and in case of refusal, employers threaten them with dismissals, reported a public employee who preferred to remain anonymous.
