Senator Arashukov charged in two murder cases

Rauf Arashukov, Senator (Member of the Russia's Federation Council) from the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), has been detained today during a plenary session of the Council. He is accused of involvement in two murders, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.

Investigators suggest that Rauf Arashukov was involved in the killings of Aslan Zhukov, a deputy head of the "Adyge-Khase" Movement of the KChR, and Fral Shebzukhov, an adviser to the KChR's head, as well as in "other crimes," the ICRF's press service has informed.

The Federation Council has deprived Arashukov of his immunity and agreed to bring him in as a defendant after the submission of the Russia's Public Prosecutor General, says the statement posted on the ICRF's website.

Aslan Zhukov was shot dead on March 14, 2010, in Cherkessk, and the murder of Fral Shebzukhov was committed two months later.

Let us remind you that on September 11, 2018, it became known that the three people arrested and convicted for assassinating Zhukov and Shebzukhov testified against Senator Arashukov.
