In Quarter 4 of 2018, 21 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

Within the fourth quarter of 2018, at least 21 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; in particular, 16 persons were killed, and at least five more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

Among the 16 casualties, there are 14 people involved, according to law enforcers, in militants' activities, a law enforcement officer and a civilian. All the five wounded are law enforcers.

In Quarter 4 of 2018, in Kabardino-Balkaria, six persons were killed: five of them, according to law enforcers, were militants, and one was a law enforcer.

In Dagestan, six persons fell victim to the armed conflict – three were killed, and three wounded. All the dead were alleged members of the armed underground; the three wounded are law enforcers.

In Ingushetia, in October-December 2018, four victims were recorded: two persons were killed and two - wounded. The death toll included an alleged fighter and a civilian; both wounded persons were law enforcers.

In Chechnya, during the same period, three people perished in the armed conflict, whom law enforcers declared to be militants.

In the Stavropol Territory, in the period from October 1 to December 31, 2018, two alleged members of the armed underground were killed.

In Karachay-Cherkessia and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, no victims to the armed conflict were recorded in Quarter 4 of 2018.
