IS* claims responsibility for attack on law enforcers in Sernovodskaya

The "Islamic State" (IS, earlier ISIL), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, has declared Mansur Beltoev, the Ingushetia resident killed in the attack on Chechen law enforcers, to be its militant; however, it marked the Stavropol Territory as the place of the attack.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on January 26, the police post located in the outskirt of the dwelling settlement of Sernovodskaya was shelled from submachine guns; two law enforcers were wounded, and one of the attackers was later found dead in the nearby forest and identified as Mansur Beltoev, a 24-year-old resident of Ingushetia.

The information about the IS* involvement in the above attack appeared in the new issue of the weekly newspaper "Naba", the "Directorate 4" Telegram channel, which is tracing militants' activities, reported on February 1.

The weekly treats the dead resident of Ingushetia as an IS* militant, and the area, where the attack took place, – as "the Stavropol Territory, a part of Chechnya," the above Telegram channel reports, posting a screenshot of the paper article in the Arabic language. The article, according to the screenshot, is illustrated with a photo of Mansur Beltoev.

"Apart from geographical errors, the authors of the article added colours to the attack itself – according to their version, the post was shelled from a machine gun, equipment was burned down, and several law enforcers were killed," the report said.
