Dagestani resident detained in case on threats to organizers of Egor Kreed's concert

A writer of the "Imamat of Dagestan" page on Instagram is suspected of extremism for posts calling for the disruption of the anime festival and the Egor Kreed's concert in Makhachkala, sources from the regional law enforcement bodies reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian pop singer Egor Kreed cancelled concerts in Makhachkala in September 2018 after receiving through Instagram threats and calls not to come to Dagestan. The anime festival "AniDag", which was to be held in Makhachkala on November 25, 2018, was disrupted after organizers were bombarded with threats.

Dagestani journalists recognized the reality of threats voiced against artists on the Internet.

The "Interfax-South" reports with reference to a source that Akhmed Israfilov, a resident of Dagestan, was accused of calling for extremist activities. According to the preliminary information, he was one of the authors of the posts calling for the disruption of the anime festival and of the Egor Kreed's concert in Makhachkala.

In Dagestan, calls to protect residents of the republic from cultural performances and events were voiced more than once, and accusations of non-compliance with the traditional values of the Dagestani society were voiced to justify those calls. Rappers MC Doni and Allj and pop singer Stas Mikhailov also had to cancel their concerts in Makhachkala.

Let us remind you that on February 27, comedian and blogger Eldar Iraziev, popular in Dagestan, said in his video appeal that law enforcers put him on the police prevention registration list as an extremist after he had spoken about nightclubs.
