Ingush activist Zarifa Sautieva achieves reinstatement
The court reinstated Zarifa Sautieva, dismissed after participating in protests against the agreement on the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya. The activist's dismissal is of political nature, notes Timur Akiev, the head of the of Human Rights Centre "Memorial" office in Ingushetia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported on January 25, Zarifa Sautieva was dismissed from her post of the deputy director of the Memorial complex to victims of repression in Nazran. The activist associated the dismissal with her participation in rallies against changed in the border with Chechnya and challenged the legality of the order issued by the Ministry of Culture for Ingushetia.
"I liked working in the museum, especially fulfilling the task of perpetuating the memory of victims of repression. However, even for the sake of my favourite work, I am not ready to give up freedom of speech," said Zarifa Sautieva. The activist noted that she would continue to participate in actions against the border agreement with Chechnya.
The director of the museum reported that the quality of the Zarifa Sautieva's work did not cause any complaints, while he was forced to dismiss her for staff redundancy and recruit "two technical employees."
