Defence expresses concern over health of Akhmed Barakhoev arrested in Magas
Being kept at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), Akhmed Barakhoev will suffer a negative impact on his health state because of his diseases which are to be treated on an outpatient basis, reports Basir Ozdoev, an advocate of the activist.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this morning, law enforcers took away with them seven Ingush oppositionists, including Akhmed Barakhoev, a member of the Council of Teips of the Ingush People and an organizer of the rally held in Magas on March 26. Later, it became known that the court sentenced Akhmed Barakhoev to an administrative arrest for 10 days.
On March 26, without a sanction from the authorities, residents of Ingushetia continued the protest action in a square in Magas, and that led to clashes with law enforcers on the other day.
The detention of Akhmed Barakhoev will have a negative impact on his health state, given the fact that he has been diagnosed with diseases which are to be treated on an outpatient basis, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by Basir Ozdoev, an activist's advocate. He has reported his intention to appeal against the decision of the court on the Akhmed Barakhoev's arrest.
According to the decision of the Magas court, Akhmed Barakhoev pleaded not guilty. The activist stated that "since there were a lot of people at the rally on March 27, officials from the law enforcement bodies asked him to stay at the place in order to prevent unrest." The court's decision also reports the position of advocate Basir Ozdoev, who stated that "the government created the conditions for committing of administrative offenses" by refusing to sanction the rally.
