Rallies in support of Ingush activists held in Belgium and Finland

On Saturday in Brussels and Helsinki, the Ingush held rallies in solidarity with fellow countrymen protesting at home against the border agreement with Chechnya and demanding the resignation of the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the protests in Magas on March 26, 12 activists detained in Ingushetia were transported to Nalchik. Three of them, protest leaders, were arrested; one of them, the elder Akhmed Barakhoev, went on a hunger strike. A criminal case on the use of violence against law enforcers was initiated against nine activists.

The actions were aimed at supporting the Ingush people and their right to a referendum; at enforcing the law "On Rehabilitation of Repressed Nations"; as well as at protesting against the persecution of activists, the portal "FortangaORG" has informed.

The rally in Brussels attracted Ingushes from a number of European countries: France, Germany, Spain, Holland, Greece and Austria.

In Helsinki, activists demanded to cancel the Chechen-Ingush border agreement; to dismiss the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov; and to stop persecuting the participants on the March 26 rally. Also, the protesters announced a fundraising to help the activists, fined for their participation in the Magas rally on March 26.
