Authorities of Chechnya disclose reason for unilateral registration of border with Dagestan
Chechnya unilaterally registered a disputed piece of land on the border with the Kizlyar District, since there had been no reaction from the Dagestani side, explained the spokesman for the Ramzan Kadyrov's administration and Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen parliament.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, Chechnya unilaterally registered for itself a disputed piece of land on the border with the Kizlyar District of Dagestan.
The technical procedures to determine the borders with Dagestan had been completed in Chechnya back in late February, reported the spokesman for the administration of the leader and government of Chechnya. "Further, it was expected that the Dagestani side would provide its information and then the arisen discrepancies would be resolved substantively. However, the process is being overly delayed in Dagestan, and that leads to controversial issues," the official told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Shamil Khadulaev, the head of the Dagestani Coordinating Council of NGOs, reported a phone conversation with Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen parliament, the RIA "Derbent" reported on April 7.
During the conversation, Magomed Daudov explained that the Chechen side had included in the cadastral registration a piece of land on the border with the Kizlyar District, since there had been no reaction from the Dagestani side, reported Shamil Khadulaev.
However, he has emphasized that Magomed Daudov expressed the willingness of the Chechen side to discuss all points of contention, including the issue concerning 160 hectares of land in the Gumbet District of Dagestan.
