Officials in Nazran demand refugees to move out of barracks

The forced migrants from the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia, living in three barracks in Nazran, have received prescriptions from the Mayoralty to move out. In total, 15 families are under a threat to stay homeless. They tell that they have nowhere to go, since they were not provided with alternative housing; and it was impossible to buy some for the money allocated to refugees.

The 15 families of forced migrants from the Prigorodny District, living in three barracks in Nazran, have received Mayoralty's prescriptions to vacate the occupied premises until April 15, Ruslan Akhilgov, a tenant of a barrack in Fabrichnaya Street, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In his opinion, they are being evicted because the barracks "are located in a most lively place, opposite the market; and this land plot has long been attractive for many entrepreneurs."

The migrants were threatened that if they fail to abandon the barracks, water, electricity and gas supplies will be cut off; they have already stopped supplying water, Mr Akhilgov said, adding that if the barrack tenants are evicted, they will have no choice but to set up a tent outside the Mayoralty. "We have nowhere to go," he has concluded.
